The short version: we collect very little, we do not sell anything about you to anybody, and you can have your details removed by sending one email.
You do not have to give us anything to read moveabroadmanual.com. There is no account to create and no newsletter pop-up collecting your address.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which keeps basic technical records of requests — things like the page requested, rough geographic region, browser type and time. This is standard for any website and is used to keep the site working and to see roughly how many people visit. It does not tell us who you are.
Checkout is handled entirely by Gumroad, which is the seller of record. You enter your email and payment details on Gumroad's own system.
We never see or store your card details. They do not pass through us at any point.
What we do receive from Gumroad is the information needed to fulfil the order and look after you afterwards: your email address, the date of purchase, and the country Gumroad recorded for tax purposes.
Gumroad processes your payment under its own privacy policy, which you can read at gumroad.com/privacy.
Three things, and nothing else:
We do not sell, rent or trade your email address. We do not pass it to advertisers, relocation companies, visa agencies, property developers or anyone else. If that sounds like a strange thing to spell out, read the first chapter of the book and it will make sense.
Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. Using it stops the update emails and does not affect your access to the book.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party analytics that follow you around the internet. Cloudflare may set a cookie for security and performance reasons. Gumroad sets its own cookies during checkout, covered by its policy.
We keep purchase records for as long as we are required to for tax and accounting purposes, and your email address for as long as you want to receive updated editions. Ask us to delete it and we will.
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
Send one email to hello@moveabroadmanual.com and we will deal with it, normally within a few days. You do not need to give a reason.
Note that deleting your email address means we can no longer send you free updated editions, because we will have no way of reaching you.
This book is written for adults and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
